Nokia promo video spills the beans on business-minded Nokia E72 and E75 Friday, Sep 19 2008

A demo video of the latest and greatest business messaging devices by Nokia leaked online revealing the yet unannounced Nokia E72 and Nokia E75. The Nokia E72 is a full-QWERTY successor of the E71, while the E75 features a hybrid form factor incorporating both a normal keypad and a slide-out side QWERTY.

Nokia E75

Both the Nokia E72 and E75 seem to have built-in GPS receivers and advanced email capabilities. We guess the other specs will be high-end as usual.

Since we don’t have any additional info, all that’s left is to enjoy the video while it lasts.

Nokia Enhanced S60 Calculator Tuesday, Sep 16 2008

Nokia Beta Labs has published Enhanced Calculator with new interface. It’s looks great if your compare with Nokia’s calculator

The new interface is really cool. This calculator has new features like “Scientific Mode” and “Loan Calculator”

It’s also compatible with S60 3rd edition Second Version (QVGA). But I don’t understand why they released as a java (.jar) file. I will keep using my default calculator. But it’s a good alternative if you need scientific calculations.

8-megapixel LG KC910 makes a second appearance, it’s due in October Sunday, Sep 7 2008

The 8 megapixel LG KC910 was announced some good 13 days ago, but LG are again causing a stir by publishing more photos of the device. Unfortunately there’s no info on the expected pricing, but still the October release date is confirmed.

Equipped with an 8 megapixel auto focus camera the LG KC910 is the first feature phone of the company to sport Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition it extends the functionality of the Viewty with GPS, which allows geo-tagging of the photos.

The sweet VGA videos at 30 fps and slow motion 120 fps QVGA videos are also there. A xenon flash is also on board to facilitate photography in low-light conditions. The display of the new LG will be a 3″ 262K color one with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels.

Connectivity is also duly covered in the LG KC910, which has support for all the four GSM bands. 3G with HSDPA is also available and so are Bluetooth and USB. The final extras of the KC910 include microSD card slot, TV-out support, Xvid and DivX video playback and Dolby sound for the music.

So all in all, we just can’t wait to get our hands on this baby, and we guess you are drooling just as we are. We’ll stay tuned for more info.

TongRen VibrateCall v1.00 S60v3 SymbianOS9.1 Thursday, Sep 4 2008

Usual way of making a call: dial the number, place the phone to your ear to wait for person on the other line to answer.

When connected with VibrateCall: Dial the number, hold phone in your hand. Phone will vibrate awaiting for person on the other line to pick up. Phone stops vibrating when call is connected. Put the phone to ear to talk.
Why use VibrateCall?
Safer: “Radiation emission by a mobile phone when a call is connected is found to be as much as 20 times the level during a call”

Easier: You don’t need to stick your phone to your ear when calling somebody, just hold the phone in your hand, you will know exactly when the call is answered.

How it works: When you are making the call, you mobile phone will keep vibrating. After the call is answered (or after a time-out), it stops vibrating. To make it easy for drivers, you can also make a call with the loudspeaker on.

Benefits: You will put your phone near your ear only after it is answered, which protects you from the high radiation emission when a call is connecting. It also helps in the noisy environment, just hold the phone with your hand and wait until it stops vibrating..

Phones Supported:
List: Nokia N95(8GB), N82, N81(8GB), N76, E51, E90, 6290, 6120, 6121, 6110, 5700
Tested On: N95(8GB), N82, N81(8GB), E51, 6120, 6110, 5700

Nokia finally Comes With Music, sold with 5310 exclusively in the UK Wednesday, Sep 3 2008

It seems like the release date of the long-awaited ground-breaking Nokia music service called “Comes With Music” is just around the corner. The first handset to come with one year of unlimited free access to the Nokia Music Store catalog is the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic.

The first market for the new “Comes With Music” service will be the UK where Carphone Warehouse will be selling the newly styled Nokia 5310 on a pre-paid basis. Carphone Warehouse will be the exclusive retailer of the new edition of the 5310 until December 31, 2008.

You should be able to pre-order the 5310 as of today, but the handset is still nowhere to be found on Carphone website, so its pricing is unknown.

The new “Comes With Music” edition of the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is all white but offers several colored accents.

The unprecedented Nokia “Comes With Music” service was announced back in December 2007 and its launch had already been dragging behind the initial schedule.

The service allows unlimited music track downloads from the Nokia Music Store catalog for a period of one year. When the year is over you’ll get to keep all the tracks, however they will be DRM protected, so you can listen to those only on your Nokia phone. In case you want to transfer them to other media, you’ll have to pay for all the tracks.

Further details about “Comes With Music” should be announced at the next Nokia event, which is to be held on October 2nd, 2008, which probably means that the service won’t fire up until then.

While the Nokia “Comes With Music” service sounds really sweet we can’t help but wonder why the already aging Nokia 5310 is the only handset to take advantage of it instead some high-end N-series device. Only time will tell though.
